Who is the ABA?
As the Australian almond industry’s peak industry body, the ABA facilitates further growth of the industry, seeks to maximise its profitability and ensure its sustainability, by providing a platform for industry members to collectively respond to industry wide issues, invest in research and marketing, share knowledge, and interact with government and other stakeholders.
Initially established in 1985 as the Australian Almond Growers’ Association (AAGA), the association was restructured and renamed in 2002 as the Almond Board of Australia (ABA), reflecting a broadened charter and membership base.
What is the Australian Almond Conference?
A ‘must attend’ event on the industry calendar, this Conference is the largest gathering of almond industry representatives in Australia. It brings together over 300 Australian and international delegates, with participants including growers, processors, marketers, researchers, industry suppliers and other interested persons.
Where & When is the Australian Almond Conference?
The 2016 Australian Almond Conference will be held from Tuesday, 8th November to Thursday, 10th November at the Pullman Hotel, Albert Park, Melbourne, Victoria.

What’s included in my conference registration fee?
Opportunity to attend the Australian Almond Conference, full access to the Industry Exhibition and catering including morning teas, lunches and afternoon teas are included in the registration fee as per program schedule. Daily conference sessions with informative and entertaining speakers.
Social events are included for full registration delegates.
What is the dress code for the conference?
During the conference days, business attire is preferred. The minimum dress standard for the Welcome Reception and the Conference Dinner is business attire or cocktail.

Can I bring extra guests to social events?
Additional tickets can be purchased for social events, up until the day of the event unless sold out.
Where can I book accommodation?
The Almond Board of Australia is not responsible for any accommodation bookings for the Australian almond Conference. All bookings/changes/cancellations must be made directly with hotel providers in accordance with their accommodation terms and conditions. Delegates wishing to make any changes to a reservation at any accommodation provider must notify their hotel directly. Please contact your hotel for more information.

How do I register for the conference?

Invitation Letter for Visa Application
Delegates must have registered and paid the required registration fees before requesting an official letter of invitation. All requests should be sent by email to the Conference & Communications Manager email@example.com . Please note that Australian Almond Conference Organiser will not be able to contact or intervene with any Embassy or Consulate office on behalf of a delegate.
Is Almond Board of Australia Membership required to attend the conference?
No, but we would encourage you to become a member. If you should join the Almond Board of Australia within 30 days of the conference, the difference in registration fees will be refunded to you – after the conference is concluded. (This offer is valid for Australian Almond Conference conference delegate fees only and does not apply retrospectively to sponsorship or exhibition packages). Why not become an ABA Member and enjoy membership prices to the conference, as well as the opportunity to take future exhibition and sponsorship packages at reduced rates, along with the many other benefits that membership brings.

Is there internet available at the venue?
The Conference venue has facilities for wireless or cable internet services. Delegates that require internet services will need to arrange this at their own expense with their service provider or with the venue.
When do early bird rates end?
Early Bird rates for the 2016 Australian Almond Conference end on Friday, September 30th.
When is the cut-off date for registrations?
Whilst we do prefer registrations to be in prior to the first day of conference, you can register on the day of the conference at the Registration Desk, unless venue capacity has been exhausted.
What is the cancellation policy?
All cancellation requests must be made in writing to the Conference & Communications Manager – Jo Pippos at email@example.com
- Cancellations of paid delegates after June 30 and before September 1 2014 will incur a $100 cancellation fee.
- Cancellations after September 1st cannot be accepted; however transfer of registration to another delegate will be accepted.
- All refunds will be paid at the conclusion of the conference.
